For over 50 years, St. Carlo Acutis Catholic Student Center has been a home for college students in the Rapid City area.
It is a great privilege to provide a place where community, friendship, and faith flourish. We hope you’ll come see for yourself!
Our Mission
Our mission is to bring young men and women to Jesus Christ through full participation in the life of the Church, challenging them to be faithful disciples and equipping them for their vocation and Christian mission in the world.

Without Christ, we can do nothing. The Eucharist is both the source and the summit of all we undertake.

Saint Carlo Acutis
This young Catholic lived a simple life of devotion to the Eucharist and radical availability to those around him. In this age of profound confusion and distraction, Carlo prioritized his relationship with Christ and the Blessed Mother. As a result, his joy overflowed to all whom he encountered.
Our desire is that his patronage might be a reminder that, with Christ at its center, a life of holiness and greatness is possible. Learn more about St. Carlo Acutis here!

Fr. Mark McCormick
Chaplain
As Chaplain at St. Carlo’s and Director of Communications for the Diocese of Rapid City, Fr. Mark ministers to young people on their journeys as disciples of Jesus Christ.
He not only provides spiritual nourishment by his administration of the sacraments at St. Carlo’s, but he also brightens the center with his joyful participation in community life!

Katie Baltzer
Director of Operations
After earning a nursing degree from SDSU, Katie moved to Rapid City, met her husband, and converted to Catholicism with the support of the St. Carlo’s community and FOCUS ministry.
As Director of Operations, she now plays an integral role in extending hospitality, managing volunteers, and coordinating events to ensure that St. Carlo’s remains a place of encounter with Christ.

Anthony Flores
Director of Development
Anthony has served the Catholic Church for over a decade after earning a BA in Writing and Literature and an MA in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville.
As the Director of Development, his education and experience allow him to share the Truth of Christ in many different ways with the college students. His primary focus is fund development, expansion planning, and fiscal and organizational stability. Connect with Anthony to learn how you can support the amazing things God is doing at St. Carlo’s!
